Peter Picc Line Model With Case
Skills
- The only available teaching model which allows review of principles and tools necessary to validate the knowledge and skills needed for peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) insertion
- Enables practice of sterile technique in set-up and insertion of PICC line
- Movable chin, which when turned, simulates the occlusion of the jugular vein which then prevents the PICC from taking this path
- Proper placement can be confirmed by viewing the distal tip of the PICC in the viewable superior vena cava on the side of the model
- Palpable ribs, together with the landmarks on the chest, permit practice of measuring proper catheter length from insertion site to second or third intercostal space
